NYFW PART 3: MANHATTAN DINING RECOMENDATIONS
Hey there. I am having a great time in N.Y. where I’m working of cool shows with Maybelline New York, I worked on a big Essie shoot, and I am spending the evenings dining at superb restaurants, I feel so privileged. Actually I have my Maybelline boss Lady Sine Gerstenberg to thank as she did all the gourmet research beforehand.
I don’t want to keep all this good food and great dining experiences to my self, so here are 3 classic American cusine restaurants you shouldn’t miss if you are in the city.
Freemans:The restaurant on the first picture is well hidden away in an alley off Bowery, the interior is rustic and romantic, colonial American Tavern is the theme (with wild looking fresh flowers also in the tiny washroom). The menu is simple, rustic and American, I can recommend the Hot Artichoke Dip with crisp bread, a starter as big as a main course and too tasty!
The Dutch: Is a busy, bustling establishment serving American food at high quality, for instance I had a plate of amazing oysters (East, West coast and Maine) my friend had spicy fried chicken with honey butter biscuits and slaw on the side.
The Standard Grill (on the west side) is a part of The Standard hotel. This is a lively bistro with hip and very friendly staff (this is where we got the best service out of all the places we went). Again I went for oysters as starter and a vegetarian entree which was very good + some sides, oh and Baked Alaska for dessert! I really enjoyed dining here, i just wish we had time to check out the roof top cocktail bar and view too, that will be next time!
Oh and the wine these places was so good but I also had a wine expert with me, Sine and she did a great job!
