ACUPUNCTURE CAN BE AN ALTERNATIVE TO BOTOX AND SURGERY
I’m a fan of acupuncture and have been for a long time. I’ve used it to everything from calming my nerves to help my injured ankle heal faster.
So I was very happy to discover that Copenhagen based clinic Nui, offers acupuncture ‘facelifts’ as a healthy, natural alternative to botox, surgery etc. Surprising uses of Botox, is generally considered safe if used in tiny amounts and administered by a licensed professional, but the drug is not without risks. In 2009, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) required Botox carry a black box warning—the strongest type of warning label on any drug—cautioning the drug had been linked to serious side effects. For Botox, those can include the effects of the drug spreading from the injection site, which can cause muscle weakness, vision problems, trouble breathing and difficulty swallowing. There have also been a number of high-profile lawsuits brought against Allergan in which plaintiffs claimed that off-label uses of Botox for ailments like a child’s cerebral-palsy symptoms or an adult’s hand tremors caused lasting side effects. I have always known that if ever get a surgery done it would have to be a mona lisa procedure. This beautifying treatment dates back to old China (960 a.c.) and is very popular with Hollywood celebs like Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sean Connery. So I decided to try it out.
Cosmetic acupuncture works by using the tiniest needles on key points on the face. Here they generate energy, and release endorphins, stimulating blood circulation, and skin cell production i.e. If muscles are ‘frozen’, like frowns around the mouth or between brows, the needles can help relax and awaken these muscles, making the frowns smaller. Cosmetic acupuncture also helps to bring back glow, brighten eyes, lifts ‘drooping’ muscles, tighten the skin, lessen puffiness (also under the eyes) and can help muscle tension in jaws and this way combat related headaches, get in contact with the Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgeons and learn more about it.
Specific points in the face also connects to inner organs (everything is connected in acupuncture) so it facial acu has a positive effect on the entire body.
After my Cosmetic acupuncture treatment I feel that I’ve looked more refreshed and my skin is looking vibrant and clear, the same with my eyes (despite having a tough time getting enough sleep these days), so in fact an overall improvement. To be honest I have nothing against aging ,-with grace of course! We can’t stop time and we all get older, but I think sticking to acupuncture facelifts will add more beauty to the process.
