THE PERFUME EVERYONE COMMENT ON

PROBABLY THE BEST LITTLE FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD (AND VIOLA’S FIRST).

Hi, Last weekend I took Viola to her first festival ever, because when I went to Roskilde this year she was so guttered that she couldn’t come, so I found an amazing alternative, –Avernax!

A tiny festival on the shore of a little danish island with room for 500 people. This year was the (public) launch of Avernax, which is a a brand new non profit music/food/nature/good vibes and sustainable festival. The tickets for 2 days of music, plus half a day on arrival and departure did not only include camping and music BUT also the best home cooked and locally produced meals,- seven in total And free beer for the adults and sodas for the kids. This must be close to what heaven feels like.

I have no idea how all this was possible, the festival was so well organized, the food damn good, the surroundings so pretty and the music was really diverse and good (I really enjoyed being introduced to bands I’d never heard of before but will definitely be on my playlist now)  and finally; people were so nice to each other.

Viola, me and my friends had the best weekend , -in fact Viola asked if we could stay for a month. There’s no a doubt that we will come back next year! On that note I’d like to add that this is a festival for adults really (don’t wanna turn it into a kindergarten.)

Below are lots of  pictures of our magical weekend.

When you arrive you get a tin cup you can personalize, there’s no plastic cups or disposable cutlery, so you make sure you stick with your cup, I used a ‘carabin hage’ (dunno the name in english) for ours.

The girls made this Giraffe in the creative spot where they spent a lot of time, and got a lot of help from adults who I think just happened to enjoy helping them..

The food was a huge part of the Avernax experience. The music was turned of and we ate together. The meat and vegetables were all locally produced on the island.

More breakfast, even the jam was homemade, tasty!

To get to and from the ferry local farmers helped with transportation for the lazy ones, so we sat on the back of a tractor (there’s a first for everything).

Photo credits below goes to my friend Esben Syberg, who told me about Avernax in the first place.

Master chef and super hero preparing lamb over open fire. I usually don’t eat meat but had to try this also because these lambs had had a wonderful outdoor life on Avernak Ø before ending here.
