TESTING KOREAN SNAIL MUCIN MASK!
Hey babes. Finally, finally I got around to test some snail beauty. This has been a thing in the K-beauty industry for some time now, and of course I’ve been eager to try out the benefits for myself.
The snail mucin is said to have an anti aging, anti inflammatory, brightening and hydrating effect on our skin. People suffering from acne and scars could benefit especially from products containing snail mucin, some dermatoligst say. I read an interesting article about the sticky ingredient here.
Today I tried Korean Tonymoly’s Intense Care Snail Hydre-Gel Mask. A gel mask that reads ‘deep-moisturizes, and nourishes yours skin with Snail Mucin’. I applied the mask after a cleaning my face with a gentle exfoliator, so my skin was prepared to absorb all the goodiness. You leave the mask on for 20-30mins. remove it and then add your daily moisturizer (or I did).
My skin felt very smooth and silky soft afterwards. My complexion was fresh and even, -probably also from the cooling and refreshing effect gel masks has. It felt as if my skin had had gained more elasticity too.
Now 7 hours later my skin still looks great, but I should have applied my daily face oil after removing the mask and prior to moisturizing, as I usually do. My skin still needed that extra richness.
You can get Tonymoly at Sephora and Urban Outfitters. Oh and one very good thing about this gel mask, it stuck to my face for 30 mins. I could actually clean the house and it did not move.
