6 EASY WAYS TO DOWN SIZE YOUR BEAUTY KIT AND HELP SAVE THE PLANET (LIKE LEO SAID.)
Hi there. Climate change is real, plastic is everywhere in the sea, the rain forest is disappearing along side it’s beautiful species, and millions and millions of people no longer have a basic necessity as clean drinking water due to pollution.
As a very concerned mum and climate activist I guess, I want to share a few easy steps on how you, by doing very little can make a small change, and if we all do it, it will have a huge impact.
I hope your are with me and ready to take it into our own hands to make a change. Remember every little DO count.
* When you shop beauty product, opt for natural, organic, and fair trade products.
*Use natural oils, like organic almond or coconut oil as body moisturizer instead of your conventional body lotion. This way you save the environment and yourself from artificial perfume and parabens. Also the manufacturing of these oils are less abrasive on our environment.
*Everything you wash yourself in, shampoo, conditioner, exfoliators, shower gels, cleansers etc ends up in our waste water. Use only the amount needed, or perhaps even skip some of these products. I for instance quit using shower gels many years ago, as I really didn’t get the point. Clean water makes me just as fresh and clean as with shower gels, -I even got my doctors word on that.
*Go for refill products in less packaging, this is an easy way to save on plastic and it will also save you money. Win win!
*Use products with more benefits. Back to the oils, Coconut oil for instance can be used as makeup remover, cleanser and body oil. This will also save space in your makeup bag,- another win win!
*Finish what you started. Sometimes we get exited and wanna try everything we read about or see in ads, we go shopping and over consume. We start using a new product before we finish the old one, and while we are using the new, the old goes bad and ends up in the garbage! That’s totally unnecessary, a waste of raw materials, packaging, and your money.
I really could go on and on. BUT in general THINK about what you use, think about what it takes to produce a plastic bottle and the content (-glass is better), and where it will end up. Think about where your shower gel ends up, what it took to produce the artificial perfume in it and does it contain MICRO PLASTIC which will end up in the water, the fish and bees and finally inside you and your children,- YIKES!
Really just think twice before your consume, I mean personally I do use ‘regular’ products too, especially makeup you know that, but you can change somethings and use less I’m sure and every little counts. Here is some of my favorite natural, organic, fair trade brands I recommend you try out.
Much Love Marie
